Glendale offers many opportunities to participate in sports…as a competitor, student, or spectator.

From our  State Champion Glendale Little League…to our multiple Collegiate Sporting events, you’ll find games at all levels.  Or, maybe you just want to try a new sport?  Sign-up for swim, dance, or tennis lessons through the Nicolet Recreation Department.

Do you love to watch a good game? Then don’t miss the Nicolet High School Boy’s State Championship Basketball Team (2019). Check out MSOE’s Raider’s Baseball, the Bavarian Soccer Tournaments, or any of Cardinal Stritch University’s sporting events.

Nicolet High School, located in Glendale, is the feeder high school for four North Shore Communities: Fox Point, Bayside, River Hills, and Glendale. This Division 1 High School offers a variety of boys & girls sports teams including gymnastics, tennis, baseball, cheer, soccer, golf, rugby, track & field, dance, swimming, volleyball, and basketball.

All games are open to the public.

Glendale Little League

Play Ball…with a League of Champions

The Glendale Little League is a right-of-passage in the community. For nearly 50 years, volunteer parents have coached the program. Local businesses sponsor the teams and fields.  The fields are professionally groomed and host State Tournaments.
Glendale Little League is a chartered member of Little League International, with participants from Glendale, River Hills, Bayside, and Fox Point Wisconsin. Over 380 players from ages 5 through 14 participate in 4 divisions. The Junior Division includes players ages 13 &14, the Majors Division ages 11& 12, the Minors Division ages 9 & 10, and the Rookie Division ages 5, 6, 7, & 8.

Founded in 1970, Glendale Little League teams have participated at the State, Regional, and National levels of the Little League International tournament.  In 2019, two teams (U12 & U14) were Wisconsin State Champions.

Bavarian Soccer Team

Welcome to Wisconsin’s only 8-Time National Champion Soccer Club

The purpose of the Bavarian Soccer Club is to provide, in a non-profit setting, a premier-level soccer experience through the application of Bavarian Soccer Club-specific training and player development program, built upon the US Soccer Federation guidelines. Further, it aims to perpetuate the unique history of the game and its German cultural heritage through non-soccer events such as Oktoberfest and the spring Bock Bier Festival held on its complex.  The complex is on the same grounds as the Bavarian Bierhaus.

The Bavarian Soccer Club competes in the Wisconsin Youth Soccer Association, US Youth Soccer Association Midwest Regional League, US Club Soccer Midwest Development League, National Premier Soccer League and Wisconsin Adult Soccer League. The Bavarian Soccer Club, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation.

Beglan Academy of Irish Dance

Champion Irish Dancers…locally, regionally, and nationally!

Beglan Academy of Irish dance was founded in 2007 by former Riverdance lead dancer, Sean Beglan, TCRG, and his wife and former Riverdance troupe member, Jillian (Winke) Beglan. Both world medalists who chose to set up their school in the Midwest where Jillian grew up. Beglan Academy has gained a reputation for being a tight-knit school with a family-like atmosphere, all while still achieving regional and international success in the competitive world.

​In 2007 the school opened with a humble dance studio in a historic downtown Milwaukee warehouse. More than 10 years later Beglan Academy’s studio now boosts 3 full size dance studios and a space for music lessons in conjunction with the Milwaukee Irish Fest School of Music.

This academy trains all ages to become champions.

Cardinal Stritch University welcomes you to their games.  Men’s & Women’s sports are offered in Basketball, Volleyball, Tennis, Track & Field, Soccer, Cross Country, and more!

Sponsored by the Sisters of St. Francis of Assisi and rooted in the liberal arts tradition, transforms lives and communities through servant leadership, learning, and service. The University is guided by the Catholic, Franciscan values of creating a caring community, peacemaking, showing compassion, and reverencing creation as we embrace and cultivate the diversity of all of God’s creation.

The Department of Intercollegiate Athletics reflects the values and mission of the broader university through a commitment to personal and community development.  It embodies the Franciscan values through its support of the Champions of Character program. The NAIA Champions of Character program aims to instill five core values in NAIA student-athletes, coaches, and parents: respect, responsibility, integrity, servant leadership, and sportsmanship. These values parallel the Franciscan values which are integrated throughout the curriculum. As a program center for the Champions of Character program, Stritch works with students, coaches, and parents in the greater Milwaukee community to promote these same five core values through workshops and classes.

MSOE Raiders Baseball

Cheer on the Raiders at the new MSOE Baseball Field in Glendale

Glendale is home to the brand-new Milwaukee School of Engineering Baseball Field.  You’ll find Raider Field at the Richard E. Maslowski Community Park (2200 W. Bender Road).  Come on and cheer for the hometown collegiate team. Concessions are available on-site.

Local Golf Courses

Glendale offers two golf courses including a tournament and executive level. And, we are located 50 minutes South of Whistling Straits Golf Course…home of the ” 2020 Ryder Cup”.

The Brown Deer Golf Course…Tournament Level

Play the course where Tiger Woods turned pro! Brown Deer Golf Course is a classically- designed 18 hole course which hosts an annual PGA tournament and the USGA National Championship. It’s where the top female professionals play in the SYMETRA Tour’s PHC Classic…which is the qualifying tour for the LPGA. Master the challenging holes with a Milwaukee River stream flowing through the course. The course was originally designed by George Hansen and founded in 1929. Later it was redesigned by Andy North and Roger Packard.

Lincoln Park Golf Course…Executive Level

Lincoln Park Golf Course is the Milwaukee County Park System’s most challenging nine-hole course. Located in a wooded 312-acre park on the Milwaukee River, this course offers a glimpse of deer and fox as you enjoy a challenging round of golf. The course originally opened as a six-hole course in 1916 and has been renovated several times.

Take a course! Teach a course!

The Nicolet Recreation Department offers a catalog of courses three-times a year.  Inside the pages, readers will find community programs available to them for a reasonable fee.  You can register for cooking classes, swim lessons, camps, art programs, sheepshead, and dozens of more offerings for all ages.  They offer many youth and adult sport programs from archery to pickleball.  Even our youngest children can attend a recreational program.
