May 1, 2021: Emergency Order Rescinded
Effective May 1, Glendale will no longer have an emergency order in place. The emergency order was issued on March 14, 2020, and has been in effect for over 13 months. North Shore active Covid cases have declined significantly and continue to drop. A substantial percentage of our population is now vaccinated. That is why we don’t need emergency measures to fight Covid.
What does that mean for business owners? You should continue to follow the guidelines and directions from the CDC and the North Shore Health Department. Businesses are welcome to continue their mask requirements and whatever other rules they think are appropriate in their stores, restaurants, and places of business. If any customers refuse to comply with your rules, Glendale Police Department can be called and will respond. The city is not requiring you to have a mask mandate, but for those businesses that wish to continue the practice, we will support you.
