Float in for the 2021 Root Beer Bash
…a festival brewed for families.

Glendale is the “Root Beer Capital of the Universe” and we celebrate with a free, family-friendly festival centered around “Root Beer”. In 2019, we welcomed over 3,000 families to the Root Beer Bash. Hosted by WELCOME TO GLENDALE (Convention, Visitors and Business Association) and presented by Sprecher Brewery.







WHEN? Saturday, August 28th, 2021 (11am to 8pm)

WHERE? The Richard E. Maslowski Community Park (2200 W. Bender Road – Glendale)

COST? Free to attend

PARKING? Free on the area roads.  Cars with handicap credentials may access the parking lot.

COVID GUIDELINES? Masks are encouraged at outdoor events (for ages 4 and over) when six-feet social distancing is not feasible.

WEATHER? This festival is hosted outdoors.  (There are indoor, handicap accessible restrooms available.) However, in inclement weather…this festival will be canceled.  There is no rain date scheduled. This webpage and the WELCOME TO GLENDALE Facebook Page will post notifications.

COVID PRECAUTIONS: WELCOME TO GLENDALE follows North Shore Health Department Guidelines. Masks are recommended outdoors when social-distancing is not feasible for ages four and older. Extra hand-washing and sanitations stations will be available.  Please do not attend if you have COVID or symptoms of COVID. We will be limiting the amount of “contact-to-contact” events and attractions; Therefore, we will be scaling-back some activities and vendors. 


FOOD & BEVERAGE served 11 am to 8pm. Enjoy root-beer themed creations especially crafted for the festival.  Foods, drinks, snacks, and desserts are available for purchase.  Sprecher’s award-winning sodas and beer on tap all-day.

PETTING ZOO from 11am to 3pm. Once again, Farmer Dan brings his collection of baby goats, rabbits, pigs, ducks…and a donkey named “Root Beer”.  Special feed is available for feeding the animals (if they don’t get too full!)

CLASSIC CAR SHOW from 11am to 3pm.  For the first-time, Classic Car Owners will showcase their collectible cars in the parking lot west of the park (near the war memorial). Enjoy a variety of automobiles on display. Car owners interested in showcasing their classic car at the Root Beer Bash receive meal vouchers, root beer float vouchers, and a commemorative thank you gift. RANDOM MAXX BAND performs 11am to 1pm. This power-house Cover Band will entertain with everyone’s favorite hits. Sponsored by WATERSTONE BANK.

DJ LUKE WARM hosts through-out the day featuring popular music.

CHILDREN’S GAMES from 11am to 3pm sponsored by St. Francis Children’s Center.

Daley Debutantes Baton and Drum Corps from 1:15pm to 1:45pm

THE GREAT FLOATILLA from 3:30pm to 5pm at the far West side of the park on Bender Road (near the Oak Leaf Trail opening). Come get your free Root Beer Float sponsored by Sprecher Brewery.

DAVID STOKES entertains the children with his animal songs from 3:00pm to 4:30pm

HEADLINER BAND: BRETT AND THE DANDY’S perform from 5pm to 8pm

Would you like to volunteer? Our community volunteers make this event a success! We seek volunteers 13 years and older. This is a great opportunity for a student. Volunteers assist with set-up, take-down, counting attendance, helping at booths, directing traffic, etc.  Volunteers who assist for three or more hours receive a meal voucher.  To volunteer email:
